A Colorful and Joyful Atmosphere at the International “Catch’n Serve Ball” Tournament in Jēkabpils – Victory for “Jēkabpils Fortūnas”!

This was the third indoor tournament organized by the “Jēkabpils Lūsijas” team, and for the first time, it reached international scale, gathering over 160 participants and their enthusiastic supporters.

While intense matches unfolded on the court, moments of relaxation and joy filled the surroundings – moms enjoyed the calm in the chill-out zone, children had fun in the kids’ play area and treated themselves to sweets, while emotions were captured both by photographers and in the photo booth with instant prints.

After the group stage, the tension rose in the knockout games – every point mattered and emotions ran high.

The battle for third place brought together two teams from Jēkabpils municipality – “Pērles” from Viesīte and the experienced “Zasa”. It was a close match, but this time experience made the difference – “Zasa” secured the bronze medals.

In the grand final, the rapidly improving “Jēkabpils Fortūnas” faced off against the strong team “Naukšēni”. It was a thrilling match until the very last minute, but with determination, team spirit, and excellent play, “Jēkabpils Fortūnas” triumphed and lifted the winner’s trophy!

“We’re thrilled that the tournament keeps growing in popularity and scale – teams are eager to be part of it, and that means the world to us,” said Dace Zariņa-Spravniece, representative of “Jēkabpils Lūsijas”. “The games were exciting and full of passion, yet the atmosphere remained positive and friendly – just the way we ‘Lūsijas’ like it. Our entire team did an amazing job, and I’m so grateful to every single teammate for their dedication. Together, we created a real celebration!”

And the best news? “Lūsijas’ Catch’n Serve Ball FEST” will return next spring – even bigger, even more colorful, and, as always, full of joy, friendship, and true sports spirit. But this isn’t all for 2025 – the summer will bring “Lūsijas Cup 2025” at the sand courts in Jēkabpils Mežaparks. See you there!
