1st Basque Country Mixed Catch'n Serve Ball Championship 2026

We set up a net in the middle of the court and formed two fairly evenly matched teams. One girl played for Kementsuak. The match was exciting and very close, although in the end Bizkaitarrak managed to win comfortably. We enjoyed a lot and for this reason we continued playing although we made more points than normally teams made.

Arrate was the only woman who played but we will try to encruage more women during 2026 and if we have a bit luck we could make one team just with women.

Bizkaitarrak was more accurate in the second half of the match and made harder shots that, in some cases, Kementsuak couldn't stop on the first attempt. For example, Joseba Zubiaurre, near the net, hit very hard shots that often landed at the knees, scoring important points for Bizkaitarrak. They were also accurate with their passes and serves. Kementsuak played well and also combined well and shot effectively. In the end, Bizkaitarrak won. From now on, we will continue with the Basque league, which we started in June 2025 and will finish before Easter. We also hope to improve and prepare to attend an international tournament and represent our region, the Basque Country.
